Printing process

Using the chemistry of long-chain polymers, the highly agile Xtreme 8K printer produces strong, stable and fully isotropic parts for demanding applications.

Step 1 – Freedom of control

The heated chamber of the Xtreme 8K makes it possible to process highly viscous and solid materials at room temperature. Both the handling of the materials and the use of the printer's DLP technology are very user-friendly and offer a high degree of freedom of control.

In order to perfect the surface quality of the components, the printing process of the Xtreme 8K system has been optimized. In addition to the patented pixel tuning, the system prints top-down. During the printing process, the parts are completely immersed in material and irradiated with UV light from above. This process requires less support structure.

The system's top-down printing process enables faster curing of the layers, eliminating the usual removal step. In addition, the Xtreme 8K has powerful projectors that ensure high power is added to each voxel, resulting in rapid polymerization.

Central advantages

zentrale-icon

Poduction in series

With the largest build volume currently available, particularly large-volume components and thousands of parts can be produced every day.

zentrale-icon

Isotropic material properties

The system's top-down printing process enables faster curing of the layers, eliminating the usual removal step.

Smooth surfaces

The Xtreme 8K achieves a surface roughness of less than 1 um RA and delivers exceptionally smooth surfaces thanks to the top-down printing process and pixel tuning.

Large variety of materials

The heated bowl of the Xtreme 8K allows the processing of highly viscous materials, from hard plastics to elastomers and rubber.

Applications

Switches
HARZ

This switch is used to switch a small hand-held vacuum cleaner on and off.

Handle for medical devices
HARZ

The two-part housing is used for tumor treatment devices.

Airless tire
HARZ

The weather-resistant airless tire is used in aviation and is primarily installed in sports aircraft. The tire is printed with the material Elastic ToughRubber 70, which makes it particularly robust and able to withstand extreme weight loads.

Qualified materials

Elastic ToughRubber 70

With a Shore A hardness of 70, the material is both flexible and strong. The tough, high-strength rubber has a high elongation capacity, making it particularly suitable for the production of seals and housings.

The semi-flexible ABS-like material has high impact resistance and thermal stability. The high degree of elongation makes the high-performance material suitable for technically demanding applications.

The polyurethane-like resin is characterized above all by its strength and rigidity. It is also water-resistant and dimensionally stable, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications.
