Grand opening of the new AM Pioneers Technology Center in Esslingen
After intensive weeks of renovation and modernization, the time had finally come on Thursday, 10 July: we celebrated the opening of our new Technology Center in Esslingen together with over 60 guests – and can look back on an all-round successful event! As a central point of contact for future-oriented additive manufacturing with a wide range of materials, we have created the basis for innovation, collaboration, practical technological experience and networking within the AM community with our Technology Center.
The first visitors arrived at our new premises for the get-together as early as 4:30 pm. During an initial exchange in a relaxed atmosphere, it quickly became clear how great the interest in modern 3D printing technologies and innovative manufacturing solutions is.

Highlights of the official program
Frederik Nussbaumer – Head of Sales at AM Pioneers – officially kicked off the event by presenting AM Pioneers: our vision and services, as well as an overview of our partners and platforms.
Afterwards, our partners presented themselves:
Desktop Metal, BMF, 3DCeram, Zeiss and Carbolite Gero gave exciting insights into their technologies, system solutions and the interaction in the AM Pioneers ecosystem.
The specialist and customer presentations on specific fields of application were particularly enriching:
- Peter Quadbeck from Offenburg University of Applied Sciences highlighted the enormous potential of metal binder jetting for medical technology.
- Max Power Life Sciences delved deeper into this topic with practical examples from real-life applications.
- Atta-Ul Musawar Khawaja from maxon motor gmbh spoke about the production of technical ceramics using the SLA process.
- Carl Leonard from BMF presented the latest technical developments in micro 3D printing,
- Udo Eckloff from HoliMaker presents an exciting live demo of HoliMaker injection molding technology

Space for exchange & new ideas
The networking started at 7 p.m. – with open discussions, lots of enthusiasm and a real pioneering spirit. The guests took the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, develop ideas and make new contacts.

The AM Pioneers team and the manufacturers present were available directly at the machines – from printers and sintering ovens to software and platform solutions – for discussions, technical questions and in-depth insights. This resulted in lively dialog and technical exchange directly at the technology. This allowed visitors to see the variety and quality of the exhibited technologies for themselves. Numerous practical examples made it clear how 3D printing is already changing production processes today – and what potential still lies ahead.
One visitor summed it up perfectly:
“Practical examples and information on the various materials plastic, metal and ceramics in one event – that was really great! You rarely see this combination presented in such a compact and practical way.”
Our thanks to all those involved
We would like to thank all 60 guests, partners, interested parties and companions who spent this day with us. Special thanks go to our speakers, who made a significant contribution to the success of the event with their specialist knowledge and impulses.
We look forward to shaping the future of additive manufacturing together with you – and cordially invite you to visit us again soon at the Esslingen Technology Center.
